Since graduating in Geography from Nottingham University in 2002, Ian had stints in insurance administration, quality testing in a glass factory, and purchasing components for vacuum cleaners. His big break came in May 2004, when Forest of Dean Community Radio let him loose on the airwaves. Work experience at BBC Radio Gloucestershire gave Ian the chance to take photos of Melinda Messenger and dance with a ladies’ Morris team in a Pudsey Bear costume (though not at the same time!). He also once saw Jo Whiley catching a train to the Reading Festival. He’s worked for two independent production companies and rubbed shoulders with the stars at the BBC Jazz Awards. Ian enjoys making all kinds of radio, from spoofs of cheesy ’80s buddy movies to dramas and features.
