ED is the common abbreviation of Eating Disorders. EDs are a psychological disorder that affects more and more people, especially young people. There are still many misconceptions about EDs. Sufferers often don’t know who to ask for help and friends and family of people who are affected by an ED often find it difficult to understand and give support. SWEDA (Somerset and Wessex Eating Disorders Association) has set up a support network for people in education or training who are affected by an ED. If you want to get in touch with their Bournemouth group, contact Jess Griffiths (T. 07845 622481 or e-mail bmtheatingdisordersupport@hotmail.com). Thanks to Jess Griffiths, Claire Davey and Heather Hartwell.
