Presenter Writer and producer Alex Leam’s route to BIRSt, has taken him from a being a 14 year old radio wannabe living in his native Derby (wanting to be like Chris Evans when he was still on Radio One, and before he lost the plot!) To being station manager and presenter on the sadly now defunct Derby radio station, 1278AM D:one. Which cumulated in him sweeping the board in the 2005 Derby media awards, including ‘Outstanding contribution to radio’ ‘Best show’ ‘Radio interview of the year’ and ‘Male presenter of the year’ to name but a few.
To keep his creative juices flowing, in March 2006 Alex began producing and presenting a widely popular unsigned bands/Random ramblings of a midlands freak Podcast, broadcast online through the pages on myspace, which is now into its third season.
