This piece is adapted from a couple of scenes in the novel Sweet Thames by Matthew Kneale. It was made as part of a series of podcasts which would accompany a walk around London from the banks of the Thames, through the streets of Soho and out to the Crossness Pumping Station at Abbey Wood. The series gives a historical account of the development of the London sewers driven through fictional characters.
