Welcome to my page! My names Emma-Victoria and I’m proud to be a 10th year anniversary MARP.

My first experience of radio was in 2007 when I was invited by the producer of BBC Radio Humberside’s weekly unsigned music show “BBC Raw Talent” to go to the studios and record a vox pop about my unsigned electronic band. From that moment I was hooked. I asked the producer for advice on how to get into radio, and she pointed me in the direction of hospital radio.

For the next two years I worked on hospital radio station Kingstown Radio as a co-presenter on the breakfast show “The Wednesday Morning Shake Up Show”. The producer from “BBC Raw Talent” also kept in touch with me and invited me to go and help out on the show. After my first visit to the studios I was subsequently asked to go back and help out again.

Since September 2009 I have been at Bournemouth University studying MA Radio Production. I have loved every second of my time on the course. Although my background and passion is music and I am keen to follow a route into specialist music radio, I have discovered so much more that radio has to offer. With the encouragement from tutors and fellow MARPs to truly explore radios possibilities I have developed a keen interest in speech, feature, documentary and experimental radio making. Over the next few months I am hoping to have lots of fun producing some (I hope) interesting content for BIRSt – keep checking back on my page for updates and do feel free to comment on my work.
