On April 2nd 2011, LCD Soundsystem – one of Kieren’s favourite acts of his childhood and beyond – disbanded in a haze of balloons and confetti at a live performance from the Madison Square Garden, NY. Kieren watched it all in real-time online, and wept at the very end. It felt like the closing of the book. Nothing more. The end.
5 years on and the band have reunited, and performed live for the first time since this week stateside. Here, Kieren takes you through the band’s history, playing songs from that final gig, as well as classic tracks from LCD Soundsystem’s back-catalogue such as Daft Punk is Playing in My House, All My Friends and Dance Yrself Clean.
It’s a journey once more, and this really is happening.
